Japanese Car Day

I haven’t attended Japanese Car Day in a while. There is usually an event overlapping that I was either racing in or covering in the past but today my schedule was all clear. In the past I wasn’t able to bring my car because it was always broken. The car isn’t in its best form but it was fun to roll into this event after so many years of attending. Lately I have really been into the off-road overland scene so naturally I came to the event with the intent of seeing some of those builds here. The event didn’t have too many but it was nice to see the few that showed up.
Avery Smith (Ig : 123AverySmith) was generous enough to snap a cool roll in photo of my car. This is post crash which is why I don’t have the Origin bumper on the car but I did acquire new to me Volk GT-C’s just in time for the show.
My camera didn’t capture it well but this SC300 or 400, I don’t recall was painted a color I had never seen before. It was more of a pinkish rose gold color that I fell in love with.
A really awesome rally inspired GC Impreza was spotted in the mix.
This corner was what I was most intrigued in. This Mitsubishi Delica had the coolest interior.
One of my favorite cars of the day. The paint scheme is absolutely gorgeous.
This father and son built Tacoma was really cool. Apparently it was in really bad shape when it was first purchased. They rebuilt the entire truck including a long travel suspension setup and all the rust repair to make it practically brand new.
D.I.M.E.S came out with the heaters for this event. Triple Chrome Advan AVS Model V’s, Volk Ce28’s and Advan TC3’s all in the same fleet. These guys have serious style.
The local legends pulled up with two of the best builds in New England in my opinion. I may be biased because I know them but look at them. They’re amazing.
Zenki S14’s have always been my favorite. Match it with an Msport kit and Te37’s and you have Randy’s beatiful machine.
Corey’s car was snowing all day. Typically white on white cars don’t do it for me but this car is an exception.
Mark brought hit BN Sports kitted s13 to the event. Another super stylish s-chassis in the area.
Declan brought his daily driver JX100 to the event. It would’ve been cool to see the s13 but his daily driver is also sick.
Straight out of Tokyo Xtreme Racer the Gentle Rain GDB made an appearance
Zach’s very cool is300 made an appearance. Black with carbon bits will always be the wave.
Remember Eric Clark in previous posts? He is the owner of the black BRZ as well as this gorgeous 280Z. This car went under a super long rebuild which ill cover in the future, but Eric managed to get it finished for its first voyage here. It was running a bit rough but for a brand new build it did a great job getting there.
Danny Yu brought his s13 coupe to stretch its legs a bit.
Matias came through with his weapon of an integra. Don’t be fooled by its super clean appearance, this car gets plenty of track time.
Mr. Option 35 himself showed up in his beloved Cressida.
We set out to one of our meetup spots after the event but it didn’t last long for some of us. Eric’s car was dying when the brakes were depressed which turned out to be a bad master cylinder. We attempted to fix it there which got him some of the way home but unfortunately had to tow it the rest of the way back.
While Eric started his way back home, a few of us hung back and wanted for some of the others to show up.
