Low Life Standards Season Opener

Article/Photos By: Tj Sanethong

Cloudy skies, a slight chill with some on and off rain is the perfect recipe to unwind. For most they’re already burnt out from the earlier Easter activities but for people like us we group up and mob down to Woonsocket Rhode Island for the Low Life Standards Season Opener.

I always tried to steer clear of events like this. I appreciate what the event holder is trying to do. Providing a space for enthusiasts alike to meet up and show off their hard work and network, but its the few “bad apples” for lack of a better term, that ruin it for me personally. Maybe its just the old inside of me looking for things to bitch about or I just don’t understand the younger culture.

My neighbor and his friends have been going to these events for quite sometime. They knew how I was not fond of it at all, but insisted I give it another try. Guess where I ended up when my washed self should’ve been in bed. You guessed it, dead center of the new generation of the local car scene.

My assumptions about the event were mostly right but I have to commend Austin Conant of Low Life Standards for somehow keeping such a rowdy crowd under control and keeping the facebook page updated throughout the night. Salute to you sir.

Now lets get down to the reason why we’re all here.

Rolling into the parking lot showed the diversity. You had everything from Imports, Euros, Domestic, flush, sunk, fitted, etc. There was something for everyone. I captured some of my favorites below. We can start off with the Audi above. I know nothing about nothing when it comes to Euros, I do know what style is though. Aside from being a very well fitted car with an aggressive stance, the vinyl work caught my attention. To see the transition from Matt to gloss was a dope touch.

To add on to the Euro loving theme is this Volkswagen. I was convinced the car was painted, thats how clean it was. The pictures doesn’t do the color justice. Its so pure in person. Along side was another very well fitted WRX. This row had some of the cleanest cars in the area.,

A very mild stock body kouki S14 posted up with a super clean 8th gen coupe sporting carbon fenders to compliment the carbon hood. Im not entirely sure if either one of these cars are vinyl wrapped or painted, but they’re definitely not OEM colors.

These two were my personal favorites of the night. Both cars rocking Te37s, Bronze set being the OG bronze while the Evo was rocking the gunmetal SL’s. Super low super fitted, the combo to get my attention at least.

To compliment the Te37’s, Victory Function VF-01 front wide blister fenders were added to house the wide wheels.

While I was sifting through the sea of cars, I bumped into Tanner Bischofberger’s Sonic yellow bug eye wagon. He recently got most of his car together and will be putting the final touches on it shortly. Hopefully the changes will be complete before the Broke East Meet . Tanners flared bug eye sporting Work CR2P’s is no garage queen. For a daily driver, the car is looking great!

In short, there weren’t a ton of cars that caught my attention, but then again it wasn’t a show so I shouldn’t be expecting the greats to come through. I’ll dump the rest of the photos below.

Be on the look out for two very special projects releasing in the near future. I have been working very hard in trying to get these projects out as soon as possible at the highest quality that I could provide. I am learning as I go so comments and feedback are appreciated.
